UK Lotto Player Wins Biggest Jackpot of 2017

A lucky UK Lotto player has enjoyed the perfect weekend after matching all six main numbers in the draw on Saturday 18th March to win £19.1 million. It is the largest jackpot to have been given away all year and brings an end to a run of rollovers stretching back to 18th February.

UK Lotto Player Wins Biggest Jackpot of 2017

The numbers drawn on Saturday were 3, 8, 19, 26, 37 and 41, with Bonus Ball 43. There were over 1.6 million prize winners in total, including six ticket holders who matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball. Visit the Lottery Results page to find out more information.

The previous best of 2017 had belonged to best friends Lorraine Smith and Paula Barraclough from Tyne and Wear, who bagged a jackpot of £15.3 million last month and immediately set their sights on a trip to Las Vegas.

The last time a bigger prize was won was on New Year’s Eve, when a single participant landed £26.4 million without even matching all six main numbers. The jackpot had to be won on this occasion after surpassing its £22 million cap in the previous draw, and so the full amount went to the only player who matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball.

The latest jackpot winner will now have 180 days to come forward and claim their prize, and must decide whether they wish to remain anonymous or go public with their story. The top prize will reset to £1.9 million for Wednesday’s draw, with tickets available to buy online or from authorised retailers in the UK.
