Twelve ‘Lotto Ladies’ Claim Their $1 Million Powerball Prize

A group of twelve ladies who sensationally scooped $1 million in the Powerball draw on Saturday 10th March have come forward to claim their prize. The lucky party, who have dubbed themselves the ‘Lotto Ladies’, claimed one of three Match 5 winning tickets on the night.

They Matched Five Numbers to Land $1 Million

Their single ticket matched the five numbers 43, 44, 54, 61 and 69, but not the Powerball 22 number. The twelve women, who purchased their winning ticket at Dick’s Market at 1050 River Place Mall in Amery, have evenly split the seven-figure sum amongst themselves, each taking home $83,333.33 before tax.

No one landed the $380.6 million Powerball jackpot in that draw, so the top prize rolled over twice until $456.7 million was won by a ticket holder from Pennsylvania on Saturday 17th March.

Congratulations to All Twelve Winners

The twelve ‘Lotto Ladies’ are Jenny Karpenske, Nicole Pettay, Danielle Carlson, Saheer Khoury, Darla Bartschenfeld and Joy Silvis of Amery, Michelle Anderson, Tracy Pett and Mary Kieffer of Clear Lake, Amy Forrest of Deer Park, Michelle Stoner of New Richmond and Deanne LaBlanc of Clayton.

All Powerball winners have 180 days from the date of their draw to claim their prize, but clearly the excitement was too much for the ‘Lotto Ladies’ so they decided to come forward sooner rather than later. They must now decide what to do with their winnings. They might decide to pay off their mortgage, treat their family and friends to a summer holiday, put it into savings accounts, or splash out on new cars.

Play Powerball This Saturday

If you’re eager to follow in the footsteps of the ‘Lotto Ladies’, the next Powerball jackpot on Saturday 12th May is worth an estimated $257 million after 13 successive rollovers. Pick your numbers to be in with a chance of becoming a multi-millionaire. Good luck!
