Of course, winning jackpots isn’t the only way to get rich in lottery games, and several players still managed to win themselves millionaire status via generous consolation prizes and associated raffle games. Read on and we’ll bring you up to speed with the latest developments from around the world…

Lottery Jackpots Climb Higher

06 – 19 – 23 – 33 – 34 Euro Numbers: 04 and 07

A brand new jackpot worth €10 million was up for grabs in the EuroJackpot lottery game this week, and players were hoping to see someone win the top prize for the third draw in a row. No ticket succeeded in matching all seven of the numbers that were drawn, but three entries did manage to win €331,489 each at the second tier by matching all five main numbers and one of the Euro numbers. There were two tickets that matched the five main numbers only to win €175,494 each, and over 539,000 smaller prizes were won across the lower tiers. The jackpot in the next game on Friday 27th May will be worth around €14 million.

09 – 14 – 30 – 41 – 45 Lucky Stars: 04 and 09

The Friday night EuroMillions game boasted a double rollover jackpot with a final value of just over £23.59 million (€30.49 million), and the next draw will offer even more after no entry proved able to win that sum. Rather surprisingly, the second tier was also devoid of winners, so the biggest prizes were landed at the third tier, where two tickets won £681,684 (€923,685) each by matching all five main numbers. Those tickets had been purchased in the UK and Spain, and more than 2.17 million other entries matched fewer numbers to win lesser sums. Players will now have the opportunity to win a triple rollover jackpot of around £28 million (around €37 million) on Tuesday 24 May.

Mega Millions

19 – 24 – 26 – 40 – 68 Mega Ball: 08

The biggest jackpot of the last few days was offered by the Mega Millions game, where the top prize was worth an advertised $187 million. No player succeeded in winning that jackpot, but two tickets – one bought in California and the other in Iowa – matched all five of the main numbers to win a second tier prize worth $1 million. A third tier prize of $5,000 went to each of 36 tickets that matched four of the main numbers as well as the Mega Ball, and the total number of winners across the lower levels exceeded 1.83 million. The next game on Tuesday will now offer a jackpot with an estimated value of $203 million.

05 – 07 – 09 – 23 – 32 Powerball: 26

Powerball players had a top prize of $70 million to play for on Saturday night, but none of the tickets that had been purchased proved able to match all five main numbers plus the Powerball itself, so the jackpot rolled over. Two tickets won $1 million each by matching the five main numbers only, and a third tier prize of $50,000 was won by 35 entries that matched four main numbers plus the Powerball. There were more than 464,000 prizes landed by standard entries, and over 129,000 prizes were won by Power Play entries. The next Powerball game on Wednesday 25 May will now be worth an estimated $80 million.

UK Lotto

06 – 07 – 19 – 28 – 30 – 52 Bonus Ball: 46

The UK Lotto jackpot had been won in the midweek draw, so there was a brand new jackpot worth £3.87 million in the Saturday game. No player won that prize, but a single ticket matched five of the main numbers as well as the Bonus Ball number to win £87,644. Another 134 tickets matched five main numbers only to win a third tier prize worth £688 each, and more than 1.7 million smaller prizes were landed across the lower levels. The Lotto Raffle game created 20 winners of £20,000 each, and the Lotto Millionaire Raffle numbers JADE 6000 1384 and TEAL 2446 1231 were instrumental in creating two winners of £1 million each. There will now be a UK Lotto jackpot of around £6 million for players to pursue in the next game on Wednesday.
