Dream Literally Comes True for Michigan Lottery Winner

A woman from Macomb County, Michigan, won a $221,202 jackpot on the Fantasy 5 lottery after having dreamt about winning it the night before.

When Dreams Literally Come True

The player, who chose to remain anonymous, said of the win, “I woke up Sunday morning after having a dream about winning a Fantasy 5 jackpot. I got dressed, got in my car, and drove to my favorite store to buy a couple tickets.”

Her premonition turned out to be accurate, as she matched all five numbers in the Fantasy 5 draw on Sunday to take the jackpot, which had rolled over five times to stand at more than double its starting value. The lucky numbers were 4, 13, 14, 29, and 35.

“I looked at my phone Sunday night and saw the jackpot had reset, I remember thinking: ‘I hope it was me,’” the player said. “When I woke up the next morning I checked my ticket and screamed: ‘Thank you Jesus!’”

After collecting her winnings from the Michigan State Lottery headquarters, the player intends to share the money with her daughter and invest some in her fragrance business. Her lottery-winning ambitions don’t end there, however, as she hopes that her dreams continue to come true.

“I always pay attention to my dreams,” she said. “I’ve been dreaming about winning the Powerball jackpot too, so you all will be seeing me again real soon.”

Playing Michigan State Lotteries

Fantasy 5 is just one of several state-specific games offered by the Michigan State Lottery, in addition to the national Powerball and Mega Millions draws. Below is a list of the most popular MI state lotteries on offer and a brief overview of how they’re played.

Lotto 47 + EZmatch

To play Lotto 47, players choose six numbers from 1 to 47. Prizes are awarded to players who match three or more of their chosen numbers with those in the draw.

With a starting jackpot of $1 million, Lotto 47 offers some of the biggest prizes of all the Michigan lotteries. If the jackpot is not won in any given draw, it rolls over to the next one.

EZmatch offers players an opportunity to win instant cash prizes. When they opt to play EZmatch (in-store only), players are given a set of random numbers. If any of these numbers match those they’ve chosen for the Lotto 47 draw, they win a cash prize on the spot.

Lotto 47 can be played online, or by buying tickets through authorised retailers in Michigan.

Fantasy 5 + EZmatch

Fantasy 5 works in a similar way to Lotto 47, but players only have to choose five numbers from 1 to 39, giving them much better odds of winning. Prizes are won for matching two or more numbers.

The Fantasy 5 jackpot starts at $100,000 and rolls over to the next draw if it’s not won. EZmatch is also available to Fantasy 5 players, and works in exactly the same way as it does for Lotto 47.

Daily 3 and Daily 4

The Michigan Daily 3 and Daily 4 lotteries work slightly differently to standard draw games, in that players choose a set of three or four numbers from 0 to 9 and win different prizes depending on what order those numbers are drawn in the lotteries.

For example, if the numbers 1, 2, and 3 are drawn in the Daily 3 lottery, a player who chose those numbers in that exact same order would win a bigger prize than another who chose them in a different order, such as 3, 1, 2.

There are many different ways to win prizes in the Daily 3 and Daily 4 lotteries. The only difference between the two games is that, as their names suggest, the Daily 3 is played with three numbers, and the Daily 4 with four numbers. Daily 3 offers better odds of winning, but Daily 4 offers bigger prize payouts.

The Michigan Daily 3 and Daily 4 lotteries are both played twice a day, with a midday draw and an evening draw taking place. These lotteries can be incredibly fun to play, but it’s worth familiarising yourself with all of the different Daily 3 and Daily 4 rules and prize tiers beforehand.
