EuroMillions Jackpot Rushes Past £100 Million Barrier

One of the largest EuroMillions jackpots of the year will be available tomorrow night if anyone can match all five main numbers and both Lucky Stars. The top prize has pushed past the nine-figure mark following a run of ten rollovers, and now stands at an extraordinary £101 million (€115 million).

UK EuroMillions Winners

It has been a stunning year for EuroMillions players across Europe, with 20 jackpot winners since the start of 2017. The UK has been particularly successful, boasting seven lucky ticket holders this year.

The most recent win came on Friday 3rd November, when a syndicate of six women from Wales pocketed £25.4 million. Dubbed the Catering Girls, they knew each other from working at Neath Port Talbot Hospital and revealed that they very nearly missed out, as the lady who chose the winning line had been thinking about leaving the group, meaning they would no longer have played her numbers.

The UK is currently ranked third in the list of the most successful EuroMillions countries, having produced 70 jackpot winners since the game was launched in 2004. France has had the most, with 87, while there have been 84 winners from Spain. Luxembourg has had the fewest winners of the nine participating countries, but has still been able to celebrate a couple of jackpot wins.

Big EuroMIllions Jackpots

It has also been a great year for big EuroMillions jackpots. A Belgian participant won €153.8 million (£134.8 million) on Friday 2nd June, and then a Spanish ticket holder equalled the record for the record for the largest EuroMillions win when they scooped €190 million (£170.8 million) on Friday 6th October.

The jackpot cap of €190 million has never been hit twice in the same year, and there is still plenty of room for the current top prize to grow before it reaches its maximum again. Fans of the game will be hoping they can topple the jackpot tomorrow night and pick up an incredible windfall just before Christmas. If you want to take part, you can choose numbers online or go to any authorised retailer in one of the participating countries. Good luck!
