Record Jackpot Available in Spain’s La Primitiva

Excitement is building ahead of Thursday’s La Primitiva lottery draw as the jackpot has reached its highest ever amount after Saturday’s game failed to produce a top-tier winner. A prize of €78 million will be up for grabs, spurring on ticket sales across the whole of Spain and online for players who fancy getting their hands on a record-breaking payout.

Record Jackpot Available in Spain’s La Primitiva

La Primitiva is renowned as one of the oldest lotteries in the modern world, having existed in some form since the 18th century, and has kept its popularity intact with an exciting prize structure and the lure of massive jackpots as the centuries have rolled by. However, the top prize has never grown as large as its current value, with the previous record standing at €70.2 million, which was split between two ticket holders on 22nd February 2014.

Draws are held twice a week on Thursdays and Saturdays, with players selecting six numbers from a pool of 49. They are then randomly given an additional Reintegro number between 0 and 9 for each line they play. The top prize is won if one or more players matches all six main numbers plus the Reintegro, which has not happened since Saturday 28th March, driving the jackpot up to record-breaking proportions.

You can still earn a six or even seven-figure sum just for matching the six main numbers, and there are five more prize tiers on offer, all the way down to those players who match just the Reintegro number and receive €1, which is the price to enter one ticket into the game. Players who match five main numbers as well as the Complementario number can see the value of any prize they win significantly increased. System entries are also available, in which players pay additional fees for more combinations of numbers on a line.

La Primitiva tickets can be bought online from anywhere in the world or from authorised retailers in Spain. It may be that the jackpot keeps rolling over for a while yet but, with so many players rushing out to buy entries in the hope of landing a big win, it could just be that someone lands the top prize on Thursday to take their place in the La Primitiva record books!
