Irish Syndicate Collect €369,210 EuroMillions Prize

A group of 20 co-workers from Ireland have come forward to claim a €369,210 EuroMillions prize. The successful syndicate, all of whom work for Barry Group in Co Cork, matched all five of the main numbers drawn and one Lucky Star in the draw on Tuesday 11th July to claim the sizeable six-figure sum.

The lucky lottery lovers, who are all aged between 24 and 60, purchased their winning Quick Pick entry from Foley’s Foodstore on Cork Road in the town of Mallow. Realising that they were in line to collect a huge prize, the score of syndicate members quickly made plans to descend on National Lottery headquarters in Dublin to collect their money.

Once the presentation of the customary giant cheque had been made, the group’s leader, Emma Quaid, spoke to the waiting media: “With all the excitement I don’t think there was too much work done in the office last Wednesday,” she said, before adding that the money would come in very useful for all 20 syndicate members.

The workers were accompanied by their boss and owner of Barry Group, Jim Barry. Emma highlighted how thrilled the group were that Mr Barry could be a part of the celebrations, before adding: “He has been very supportive and gave us all a half day to travel here.”

Mr Barry responded to the kind words from his staff with some high praise of his own: “They are a terrific bunch of people and I could not be happier for them,” he smiled. “I wish them all the luck with the win and hope it brings them lots of joy and pleasure.”

Each member of the syndicate stands to receive €18,460, a sum that will certainly benefit those members of the group who have young families. However, 24-year-old Eoin May had more elaborate ideas on how he would be splashing his slice: “I’m thinking an Audi, I’m going to try drive around and be a bit flash with the cash. An Audi A4 or A6 I’d say.”

The fortuitous co-workers collected their prize just days after a family from the West of Ireland came forward to claim a EuroMillions jackpot worth €28.9 million. The winners, who opted to remain nameless, spoke of how thrilled they were with their newfound wealth, before commenting: “This will certainly make life easier for us all and will secure our futures.”

Of course, you don’t have to live in Ireland to win yourself a massive sum of EuroMillions cash. If you would like to add this Friday’s €32 million jackpot to your bank account, simply pick your numbers online or play through any authorised retailer in participating countries. Best of luck!
