Would a new number add Spice to UK Lotto

Recently the UK National Lottery has been seriously overshadowed by the Euromillions Lottery in terms of jackpots and popularity. UK National Lottery jackpots have struggled to climb and the amount of times they have reached £5 million in the last six months have been few and far between. With Wednesday jackpots struggling to get to even half that and rollovers rare is it time for a shake-up? Would a new number add spice to the UK Lotto?
Around the world, lottery draws regularly go through many changes to keep players happy and ultimately to keep ticket sales up. Numbers are added, balls are increased and lots of action is constantly taken to keep rollovers regular and jackpots high. Would the UK National Lottery benefit from this, Maybe adding a few balls or a new number, increasing the match six to match seven?

It would certainly make the UK National Lottery more difficult to win and create many rollovers. Rollovers mean big jackpots and as seen on the Euromillions Lottery create a frenzy of lottery players.
The Oz Lotto was also launched in 1994, a world lottery draw very similar to our own and always a match six draw, but a few years ago Tattersalls – who run the lottery – decided to add an extra number, making it a match seven and much more difficult to win.
That move has kept the lotto fresh, created more rollovers and made it much more competition for other lottery draws running in Australia and we think it might be just the ticket for the UK National Lottery too. With Euromillions Lottery jackpots climbing and continuing talk of a Global Lottery draw something needs to be put into place to push those UK National Lottery jackpots up a little more.
