Woolworths Lottery

Woolworths a National Institution for over a hundred years is on the brink of collapse, staff are worried about their jobs and it seems it may be time to say goodbye to pick n mix and the number one single of the week. With it goes to Woolworths Lottery contract as Camelot, the organisation behind the UK National Lottery pull out of the stores no longer allowing them to sell Lottery tickets.
With immediate effect you will no longer be able to purchase your National Lottery tickets at Woolworth’s stores up and down the country. This is surely a huge blow to the already struggling company who if nothing else are sure to miss the 5p from every ticket sold that goes to lottery retailers.

A Camelot spokesman said it had suspended trading with the Woolworths chain pending a satisfactory resolution to its current difficulties. This decision of course means that Woolworths stores will no longer be able to sell National Lottery tickets, scratch cards, instant wins or be able to process any winning tickets.
It will be a sad day if we lose our local Woolworths stores and with several other companies struggling under the strain of the current financial climate you cannot help but wonder just who will be next.
You can of course still purchase National Lottery tickets at any of the remaining National Lottery outlets across the UK or for even more convenience click the link further up the page and play directly from the National Lottery website. Playing through the website is fast and convenient, you can play for up to eight weeks in advance and the National Lottery will notify you by email if you are a lucky winner.
