It’s seemed that it’s the European Lottery draws making the news over the past couple of weeks but we haven’t forgotten the big US jackpots on our world lottery news pages. One player who did forget however, is a California Lottery player who had forgotten they had bought a Mega Millions Lottery ticket in the August 27th Mega Millions draw. This ticket turned out to be worth a staggering $135 million but the lucky winner has only just come forward to claim. Now the winning Mega Millions ticket is finally claimed, here's the news on the winner.
John Davis from California matched all six numbers (4 – 10 – 26 – 32 – 41 and Mega number 31) from the Lotto draw on 27th August after buying his Mega Millions Lottery ticket in Main Street, Morro Bay. The shop retailer will receive a $665,000 bonus after selling the winning Mega Millions ticket but that’s nothing to the staggering $135 million to the winner.
Mr Davis chose the cash option for his Mega Millions win, making his lottery ticket worth around $93 million before taxes, as US lottery wins are subject to taxes. However, even with tax paid Mr Davis will no doubt be celebrating right now.
The next Mega Millions Lottery draw is to be held on Tuesday evening but unfortunately there’s no $135 million jackpot up for grabs. A winner last night means that Tuesday’s jackpot will be at base and that means there’s $12 million to play for if you click the banner above and buy lottery tickets for the draw.
