Weekend Brings $61 Million California Super Lotto Plus Winner

Some weekends it can feel as though every single lottery in the world has rolled over, and this weekend felt a little like that. Most of the big lottery draws went without winners but there was one notable win as the weekend brings a $61 million California Super Lotto Plus winner! The state lottery provided the world’s biggest lottery winner and we guess the winner is glad to have bought lottery tickets for the draw.

The Super Lotto Plus rollover has been rolling for weeks, until Saturday night, one lucky player matched all the winning numbers. The lottery results for the draw were 1, 6, 13, 45 and 47, the Mega Ball was 16 and just one player matched all those winning numbers to scoop the $61 million jackpot.

The winner hasn’t yet come forward to claim the prize and the only details we have about the Super Lotto Plus winner is that the ticket was sold in the Anaheim area in a 7/11 store.

Thankfully for the winner there is no tax on California Super Lotto Plus prizes, but the winner will have to choose between the entire jackpot paid out over 26 years, or a lump sum payment, which will be worth around $38 million.

The California Super Lotto Plus draw will now take place on Wednesday evening, but we think US lottery players will now be choosing the Powerball Lottery for tickets, as the jackpot topped $100 million at the weekend and is now the biggest US jackpot!
