UK Lotto Crowns Its Biggest Winner of 2017

The penultimate UK Lotto draw of 2017 created the biggest winner of the year, as one player scooped a magnificent £24.5 million without even matching all six main numbers. The wait is now on for the lucky participant to come forward and claim their eight-figure reward.

Lotto Results

The winning numbers on Wednesday 27th December were 18, 36, 48, 57, 58 and 59, with Bonus Ball 50. The jackpot had to be given away after going past its £22 million in the previous draw, and that meant the full amount would roll down to the next highest winning tier if nobody matched all six main numbers.

There was only one ticket holder who matched five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball, and they instantly became the most successful Lotto player of the year. Every other time the jackpot has had to be won this year, it has been split between multiple players.

Andy Carter, the National Lottery’s Senior Winners’ Advisor, said: “Wow - a single ticket holder has banked the £24.5 million jackpot in this special must-be-won draw. The jackpot rolled down and they only matched five main numbers and the Bonus Ball to bank the biggest sum won on Lotto in 2017.”

Special EuroMillions Draw

UK National Lottery players can now look forward to the final Lotto draw of the year on Saturday, when a £3.2 million jackpot will be on offer, as well as a special edition of EuroMillions on Friday night.

As well as the £33 million jackpot, there will be ten prizes of £1 million available in the Millionaire Maker rather than the usual two, increasing the chances of winning. Anyone who fancies getting their hands on a big prize before the end of the year can choose numbers online or visit authorised retailers.
