The Health Lottery Turns Three

The Health Lottery is celebrating its third birthday this week as it continues to award cash prizes to players and raise money for health-related charitable initiatives that improve the lives of millions throughout England, Scotland and Wales.

The Health Lottery Turns Three

Run by the Northern and Shell Group, the Health Lottery helps fund great initiatives across Great Britain, with 20p of every £1 spent on Health Lottery tickets allocated to health-related good causes. At least £56 million has been raised for charities such as Dementia UK, Mencap and the Children’s Food Trust in the last three years thanks to this innovative lottery game.

Money is given to 51 different societies across Great Britain through the People’s Health Trust, an organisation that aims to address health issues across the country.

In addition to the good causes they support, the Health Lottery has also created 3.5 million prize winners who have snapped up a total sum of £84 million since October 2011. Out of these, 162 winners have picked up jackpot prizes!

Happy Birthday to the Health Lottery - may you have many more happy years of helping good causes and creating lottery winners across Great Britain!
