Yesterday we brought you news that one ticket had won the $212 million Mega Millions Lottery jackpot but with news just in we can now confirm that ten co-workers are to share the Mega Millions jackpot thanks to $5 each they chucked into a pot for the biggest jackpot in more than twelve months in the lottery.
The ten very lucky Mega Millions Lottery players all work for Chubb Commercial Insurance in New Jersey and held a press conference yesterday to announce their good fortune. The syndicate head Bob Space held up the lottery ticket clearly showing the winning numbers 26, 32, 25, 43, 52 and 10 from Tuesdays draw.
Mr Space is quoted as saying he checked and rechecked the Mega Millions Lottery numbers and then got his wife to check them too. Mr Space had purchased fifty sets of lottery numbers for the ten-strong syndicate.
He went to work as usual on Wednesday and played the whole thing down, then sent an email to each of the syndicate members simply saying ‘We won the big one’ with a list of the numbers.
After collecting the $5 from one syndicate member who hadn’t paid he shook his hand and said ‘Now you’re a millionaire’.
It’s a great day for the syndicate who haven’t yet presented their ticket to lottery officials, no doubt they have signed the back of the ticket and are keeping it in a safe place in preparation for the collection.
None of the co-workers are intending on quitting their jobs at Chubb but reiterated how blessed they all feel.
The Mega Millions Lottery is played in twelve participating states of the US or can be played from anywhere in the world by using the banner above. The next lottery draw will be held on Friday evening and the jackpot will be worth $12 million.
