Teenage Lottery Winner Arrested

UK National Lottery It seems that money truly can be the root of all evil as a teenage lottery winner is arrested on cocaine charges. Callie Rogers who at a tender 16 became the second youngest person ever to win the UK National Lottery was arrested with her partner on Wednesday after a raid on her property uncovered thousands of pounds worth of cocaine and a stun gun.

Miss Rogers and her partner were arrested at their new home earlier this week and this is just the latest drama in the young lady’s life.

Since winning £1,875,000 in the UK National Lottery five years ago Miss Rogers has lurched from one drama to another. She posed topless after having a breast augmentation then took a criminal lover who after several public break ups eventually slept with her younger sister. The winner is now 21 and a mother of two young children and lives in a modest semi detached house in Cumbria.

Miss Rogers was released without charge after Wednesdays arrest but her new partner has been warned that he may face jail after admitting possessing and supplying cocaine and possessing a stun gun. He was refused bail at the magistrates hearing and will now spend Christmas behind bars while awaiting trial.

When Callie Rogers won the UK National Lottery she already had a troubled life, having dropped out of school and placed herself and her sister in care because of an unhappy home life.

She has made several bad decisions since winning the National Lottery jackpot, especially where men are concerned. Her first boyfriend disappeared with a car she had bought and she then met a convicted criminal. They had a son together but split up several times over allegations that he had written himself cheques totalling £50,000 from her bank account.

After getting back together they had another daughter before finally splitting for good.

It seems that money didn’t necessarily bring this young lady happiness and she is not the only lottery winner who’s fortune didn’t bring instant happiness.

Take Michael Carroll who won £9.7 million on the UK National Lottery in 2002 and has since been jailed twice after being caught with cocaine and turning the grounds of his luxury home into a demolition derby.

Or former soldier Peter Kyle who blew his £5.1 million National Lottery windfall on a series of ill-advised investments.

And John Roberts, a security guard who wrecked his marriage and ended up living in a caravan after squandering his £3.5 million winnings on forty flash cars despite having never passed his driving test.

Good luck on the next National Lottery draw and if you are a lucky winner. Be sensible!
