Syndicate Members didnt pay up

lottery-syndicateLast week we heard news that the lottery rollover jackpot of almost £8 million was on by one lucky ticket holder and now news has come to light that the ticket was shared by a family based lottery syndicate. But the syndicate members didn’t pay up, they are made up of the couples children and haven’t paid since five years after the launch of the UK National Lottery which is around 1999.

Mum and Dad aren’t being mean though although their three children and fellow syndicate members must be feeling a little sheepish right now about not paying their lottery money to Dad for years now.

The Newton’s are celebrating and although Dad has been asking his three children for their lottery money for years and they haven’t been paying, the UK National Lottery win will still be split five ways between mum, dad and the three children.

The first cheque they are going to write though is for £1,000, the money they owe dad for their lottery shares over the years, an amount he is going to donate straight to charity and then all parties will be fair and equal, sharing the money out equally between all five of them.

Anyone with children will think this bit of lottery news is a familiar scenario as getting money you owe from your children can be a difficult thing. They always seem to have excuses and parents are always bailing them out.

This family shouldn’t have any trouble sharing in future though, not now they have a lottery win of almost £8 million to share.
