We seem to be bringing you no end of stories right now about Lottery Millionaires who cannot bear to give up work. It seems a very strange phenomenon to dream your whole life of winning the lottery and living a life of luxury and then choosing to go back to work. This time it’s a South African National Lottery winner who keeps his job and here is his story.
The Woman’s Day South African National Lottery draw held on August 9th 2008 was a Guaranteed 20 million rand and was sure to make one lottery winner a very rich man or woman. The prize won by a single winner who has chosen to remain anonymous.
The gentleman was said to have broken out in a cold swear upon learning of his new found fortune, and who wouldn’t? After all this would surely mean that he could give up work and live the life of luxury.
However the South African National Lottery winner is to keep his job declaring that maintaining a good quality of life is his intention and that the idea of quitting his job did not even enter his mind even though he is now a Lottery Millionaire. He maintains that although he will not do anything flash or fancy with the cash he will treat his family during the Christmas season.
I’m sure to most of us maintaining a good quality of life would mean giving up work and enjoying the time we have with our families, but as the saying goes ‘it takes all sorts’ and I wish him good luck in spending his lottery fortune.
