Shopkeeper got lotto ticket and commission

USA BallA shopkeeper got a lotto ticket and commission this week as he wins the lottery on a lottery ticket purchase in his own shop. Ron Rea runs Tobacco World in Pennsylvania and regularly buys lottery tickets in his own shop. Mr Rea likes to play the lottery, spending around $20 a day on lottery tickets, but the win still came as a high surprise. Because the American shopkeeper is both the winner and the agent, he not only receives $1.8 million, but also the $10,000 agents commission too in what may be a world lottery first.

The 68-year old owns two shops in the area but is now looking to retire with Rita, his wife of 38 years. This lottery win has made that possibility a reality as even after taxes, he is set to collect around $1.1 million.

Pennsylvania Lottery officials confirmed that Mr Rea, the shopkeeper is indeed the lucky ticket holder, and the agent allowing him to make this unique double claim.

In other American Lottery news tonight’s Mega Millions Lottery jackpot is up to $42 million after a midweek rollover but it’s tomorrow’s Powerball Lottery that’s grabbing all the headlines with a massive $79 million jackpot.
