Saturday Lotto Superdraw on 5th November 2011

UK Lotto SuperdrawThere is to be a Saturday Lotto Superdraw on 5th November 2011 with a guaranteed jackpot of £10 million, a substantially higher amount than the estimated jackpot for the Lotto game that, without rollovers, for the midweek is £2.1 million and for a Saturday draw is £4.2 million on average. When the National Lottery launched back in November 1994 the first ever jackpot for the game was £5,874,778 whilst the 2nd draw jackpot was £7,043,864. Before long the Lotto jackpots were being estimated at between £9 and £10 million.

Of course people can speculate as to why we have seen such a drop in the jackpots for the UK Lotto game and it’s been attributed to a number of different things – the introduction of the Euromillions game which boasts bigger jackpots and of course, the economic climate and people having less money to spend than they once did.

Lotto Superdraws are actually quite a rarity in comparison with the Mega Draws and Superdraws for the Euromillions; we haven’t seen one for the UK National Lottery since 23rd September 2006 where the Superdraw jackpot (the 72nd Superdraw) was guaranteed at £15 million. The winning numbers in this draw were 6, 26, 28, 35, 42 and 43 with the Bonus ball 38 which found two winning tickets who each took home £7.5 million.
