Record Sales for Kentucky Lottery

Money In a year of financial concern it must be good news to be able to report growth within your company which is why record sales for Kentucky Lottery must be fantastic news for the organisation. The news defies the odds of the reeling economy but handily will boost the state treasury more than ever before. It’s the fourth year running that lottery sales for the Kentucky Lottery set a state record and maybe it’s not so surprising with unemployment at over 10% as people see a lottery win as a way out of debt.

In the year ending June 30th, Kentucky Lottery sales totalled over $800 million beating the previous year’s record by a massive $32.3 million or 4.2 percent as quoted by lottery officials last Friday.

A massive $204 million of this went to the state towards education and other state funded projects hopefully keeping taxes down for another year. It’s up from the $192 million from the previous year and constitutes a record-breaking total.

The figures are made up of a 7 percent rise in sales of scratch cards and the Chief executive says the latest figures show that the average adult in Kentucky spends around $10 a week on lottery tickets.

That of course doesn’t included tickets for the multi-state lotteries such as the Powerball Lottery which is also played in the state and which you can play from anywhere in the world by clicking the banner above.
