The Australian Lottery uses the Lotterywest Grants scheme to award Lottery cash to good causes and this year’s $100 million offering is the highest ever seen from the Australian Lottery helped along by a record breaking jackpot earlier this year.
The money is spread out among many worth causes but to give you an idea of where the money raised in the Australian Lottery goes, a whole $1 million was presented to the Port Hedland branch of the Royal Flying Doctor Service which was established back in 1935 with the help of a Lotteries Commission grant showing that the lottery commission has been helping this charity and many others for many years now.
The record lottery grants for the Oz Lotto are a huge achievement for the lottery and helps hospitals, sports and the arts as a massive 32c in every single Australian dollar goes back into the community, helping the lives of many people.
