Of the numbers drawn by this American lottery on Saturday night we saw the number 56 roll out and this is just the 21st time this number has been drawn out since the Powerball number matrix changed on the 7th January 2009. In addition to that the Powerball number 38 that was drawn has only appeared six times in the 294 draws that have taken place since January 2009.
One of the best things about playing this American lottery is that - bar the jackpot - all of the remaining tiers have a set amount that is available to win in each draw. This came in very useful on Saturday night as 12 lucky players each walked away with $200,000 by correctly matching up five numbers. In addition to that 64 players each took away $10,000 and over 900,000 players matched three numbers to win the smallest prize available, which is $3.
The last time the jackpot surpassed $240 million was on the 2nd June 2010 after it had rolled over 12 times. On this particular draw the jackpot was worth $262 million and one winning ticket from Ohio scooped up this impressive top prize.
If you fancy becoming the first Powerball jackpot winner of November then you have to be in it to win it so have your tickets ready for Wednesday night’s draw. Also don’t forgot to check the all-important Powerball results to see if you have a winning ticket!
