Powerball Lottery heading for 100 million

A couple of weeks ago all the buzz was about the Mega Millions Lottery as a spate of rollovers created the biggest lottery jackpot in the world. When won it was $380 million and things have been pretty quiet ever since but now the Powerball Lottery is heading for $100 million, giving US lottery players a new big jackpot to play for! Saturday’s rollover means that Wednesday night’s Powerball Lottery jackpot is worth an estimated $96 million and may just burst through that $100 million barrier if no winner can be found in the midweek draw!
The Powerball Lottery has not seen a winner yet this year, as the last winner was on Christmas Day, that $48 million winner has not yet come forward to claim the prize and you can read all about that unclaimed jackpot here.
So now the only question left is, will this week see the first Powerball Lottery winner of 2011 or will this jackpot reach the giddy heights of the Mega Millions Lottery and the $380 million jackpot seen earlier this month?
The next Powerball Lottery draw is on Wednesday evening, so that’s how long we have to wait to see if this world lottery jackpot will reach nine figures. No doubt lottery players across the US, and the rest of the world will be keen to ensure they have lottery tickets for the draw!
Good luck all those buying lottery tickets and don’t forget to check back to our lottery news pages later in the week to find out about any developments or big winners in the Powerball and other world lottery draws!
