Postcode Lottery winners joy

Christine Williams, a 47 year old mother of three, has spoken of her joy at being the only winner within the winning postcode in Sunderland’s Grosvenor Street, Southwick. £25,000 is a lot of money for anybody to win but for Christine it equates to two years salary as a teaching assistant. Christine plans on using her money by planning a surprise for her elderly mother and autistic daughter Kirtsy, 28 not to mention her other children, son Sam 16 and daughter Becky 19.

Christine’s eldest daughter Kirsty suffers from a severe form of autism and is now living in specialist care although regularly comes home to be with her family every weekend. Christine makes daily visits to the care home to visit her daughter as the autism means that Kirsty is happier and more secure in familiar surroundings.

Due to her autism a holiday may not be possible but Christine goes onto say how her daughter enjoys having a bath so she may invest in a 'nice new big one'.

Christine’s mother, Laura 69, is currently battling cancer for the fifth time so she plans on treating her to something special as well.

Initially Christine thought she had won just £250 so to learn it was 100 times more than that was a huge shock. Other things on her list to spend her winnings on are a new bathroom and kitchen.

Isn’t it great to hear of someone so worthy winning? It really riles me when we hear of criminals winning the lottery and the like but this story gladden my heart and made me smile.
