Portugal Wins EuroMillions

On Friday night, after multiple consecutive rollovers, the EuroMillions game finally surrendered its jackpot to a single ticket that had been purchased in Portugal. This is the 59th jackpot that has been landed – either wholly or partly – by a Portuguese entry, and it strengthens the country’s position as the third most successful of all participating nations. There was plenty of excitement in the other popular lottery games that were played elsewhere over the last couple of days, as our weekly round-up of the latest results reveals…

Portugal Wins EuroMillions

EuroJackpot

10 – 20 – 35 – 47 – 50 Euro Numbers: 04 and 07

The EuroJackpot game boasted a jackpot worth €61 million this week thanks to rollovers in each of the previous seven draws. Once again, no player proved able to match all seven of the numbers that were drawn, and so the top prize continued to roll. The good news is that three tickets matched all five main numbers and one of the Euro numbers to win €726,652 each, and four other entries won €192,349 each by matching the five main numbers only. More than 968,000 tickets won smaller prizes, and the jackpot in the next game on Friday 25th March is expected to be worth around €75 million.

EuroMillions

14 – 19 – 21 – 24 – 49 Lucky Stars: 05 and 11

As we said at the head of this news piece, the Friday night EuroMillions jackpot was won by a single ticket that had been purchased by a player in Portugal, and we can confirm that the final value of the jackpot was €59,687,034 (which equates to around £46,514,105). Four tickets won £284,508 (€388,021) each by matching the five main numbers as well as one of the Lucky Stars, and a third tier prize of €51,736 was won by each of ten tickets that matched all five main numbers only. There were more than 2.59 million prizes won across the lower tiers, and there will now be a brand new jackpot of around £11 million (€15 million) for players to pursue in the next game on Tuesday 22nd March.

Mega Millions

05 – 08 – 57 – 59 – 73 Mega Ball: 13

Mega Millions players were trying to land an advertised jackpot of $25 million on Friday, but no player managed to succeed and so the top prize rolled over for the third time in a row. There were no players who managed to secure a second tier prize either, but 17 entries won $5,000 for each of their owners by matching four of the main numbers plus the Mega Ball itself. At the lower levels, more than 988,000 tickets won smaller prizes, and the jackpot in the next game on Tuesday will be worth an estimated $30 million.

Powerball

11 – 23 – 43 – 54 – 60 Powerball: 03

A guaranteed jackpot of $80 million was up for grabs in the Powerball game last night, but once again the task of matching all five numbers plus the Powerball itself turned out to be beyond the reach of the players who got involved. There were no winners at the second tier either, but a dozen tickets were able to match four main numbers plus the Powerball to secure a third tier prize worth $50,000 each. More than 458,000 smaller prizes were won by standard entries, and in addition there were over 122,000 winning Power Play entries. There will now be a jackpot of $90 million for players to try and win in the next game on Wednesday 23 March.

UK Lotto

21 – 27 – 31 – 34 – 40 – 54 Bonus Ball: 22

The UK jackpot had rolled over in each of the seven draws leading up to last night’s event, and that helped the top prize to reach a final value of £23.2 million. Unfortunately, no player could match all six main numbers, and so the jackpot rolled for an eighth time. A single ticket won a second tier prize of £99,074 by matching five main numbers plus the Bonus Ball, and 55 tickets matched five main numbers only to win £1,896 each. There were more than 1.4 million prizes won in total, and the Lotto Millionaire Raffle number ROSE 4269 3624 was worth £1 million to the player who matched it. The estimated value of the jackpot for the next Lotto jackpot on Wednesday is £24.8 million.
