Ohio Launches Brand New Lotto Game

From yesterday, bars and liquor stores and restaurants are geared up for something new and exciting as Ohio launches a brand new Lotto game. This Keno style lottery will be drawn every four minutes, over 200 times a day, seven days a week.
This isn’t the type of lottery many of us are familiar with, we’ve become accustomed to lotteries with weekly or twice weekly draws like the UK National Lottery and The Mega-Millions US Lottery, yet this type of lottery being launched in Ohio is already popular in at least a dozen US states.
Over 1000 retail outlets have applied to the Ohio Lottery Commission in anticipation of Ohio’s brand new lotto game and around 800 were reported to have been ready to start yesterday. Lottery officials say they hope to have 2,000 by the end of the year with interest already high from the businesses in Ohio.
Although there has been a lot of interest and hype about the lottery there has also been some criticism, with some in authority strongly opposed believing Keno will prey on the working class Ohioans who can least afford and handle it, there has also been strong opinions voiced on the decision to allow drinking establishments to be vendors of the game.
Whether the decision by Ohio state to introduce this type of lotto only time will tell, monies raised will go back to the government to run state services. However if the first flurry of excitement is anything to go by it would seem that the Ohioan lottery will certainly prove to be popular.
