News on the Powerball Jackpot Winner

News has developed surrounding the lucky winning Powerball jackpot ticket holder who managed to match the winning numbers and take home the impressive jackpot that was worth $245 million in last week's draw. Although the identity of the winner still remains unknown, we do know that the ticket was bought in Connecticut and according to local rumours addressed on the ABC News website, the winner might have lost the Powerball ticket. The ticket is thought to have been bought at Belltown Superette in Stamford.

The Powerball lottery officals say that a ticket matching the Powerball results which were 12, 14, 34, 39, 46 and 36 was brought in Fairfield County, but so far whoever the winner is hasn't come forward to claim their huge winnings. Whether the rumour of a lost ticket is true or not remains to be seen, however normally jackpot winners make a claim as soon as they can in case the worse does happen and they do actually lose the ticket that is worth a large amount of money.

Only time will tell if the winner has lost the ticket or is just waiting to come forward, however if/when they do make the claim it will be the largest Powerball pay out ever in Connecticut, as the previous record was set in June 2005 when $59.5 million was won.

However, it could be the case that the winner, whoever they are doesn't actually know that they successfully match the winning Powerballl numbers because a large amount of Connecticut residents haven't had power for quite a few days now, due to a snowstorm that took place last week.

The next Powerball draw will take place on Wednesday night and the jackpot is estimated at $25 million after players on Saturday night failed to match the Powerball results.
