A lottery jackpot of $165 million has been claimed in the USA. New Yorkers claim the massive Mega Millions jackpot, high school sweethearts Richard and Mary Morrison of Suffolk County to give them a name. Clearly it will take a while for the winners of this massive jackpot to come to terms with their instant wealth but they have spoken at a press conference when picking up their cheque.
The couple were the sole winners of the December 22nd Mega Millions Lottery draw. The jackpot was believed to be worth $162 million but high ticket sales for the multi-rollover draw pushed the jackpot up even higher to a massive $165 million Mega Millions Lottery jackpot.
The couple who are both self employed a could hardly believe her luck when their numbers were drawn on the lottery results show, the couple checked the numbers again online, confirming their good fortune.
With six children, there can be no doubt that a lottery win will make a lot of difference in the families life. Mrs Morrison bought the Mega Millions Lottery ticket while doing some last minute Christmas shopping but couldn’t have ever imagined the result. A small $5 worth of lottery tickets based on her children’s ages and random quick pick tickets was purchased but it turned out to be the last set of Quick Pick numbers that were lucky.
The lucky couple have opted for the lump sum option on the lottery prize which is to be paid as two individual shares. The tax man of course will have his share but that still leaves a tidy sum for this very lucky couple.
Tomorrow’s Mega Millions Lottery jackpot is worth a massive $60 million after the lottery hasn’t yet produced a winner in 2010. You can play the draw online by clicking the banner above, good luck!
