New York player scoops the Powerball

For weeks and weeks we’ve been watching the Powerball Lottery jackpot climb, until last weekend when the US lottery boasted a jackpot of over $200 million! The monster jackpot meant ticket sales were high last Saturday night, in all participating states and around the world and those ticket sales paid off for one lucky player at least as one New York Lottery player scoops the Powerball, netting $201 million before taxes.

Should the winner choose the cash option when he or her makes themselves known then they will be collecting around $106 million from the $201 million jackpot, an amount that will of course be lowered again when Uncle Sam takes his share.
