The B.C Lottery Corporation has come up with a new name and new logo for the Canada B.C Lottery. The Crown Corporation will now be known by its acronym BCLC, the new logo is the company name in lower case letter with dots breaking up the B’s and C’s, the phrase ‘playing it right’ features below the logo.
The BCLC believe that the new logo for the Canada BC Lottery will increase sales and improve the company’s overall looks and profit, investing $430,000 in the changes. However the the National Democratic Party of Canada believes the cash spent on the changes could have been better spent on other parts of the BCLC business, such as improving security on the game. Basically, suggesting that the new logo and name changes do nothing to address the real problems at the Lottery Corporation.
There was several ideas put forward to improve the security of the lottery and preventing the public being defrauded by retailers and employees at Lottery kiosks. Some of these ideas come into practice, such as requiring lottery retailers to collect their winnings in person from lottery offices and the creation of a database to see if lottery winners were also retailers. However the National Democratic Party believe that BCLC could do more to increase security and prevent problems with retailers.
The B.C Lottery is one of several lotteries run in Canada, the biggest one being the Lotto 6/49 which is Canada’s biggest lottery where the largest ever prize has been $54 million.
