With the EuroMillions jackpot well and truly scooped by one lucky French ticket holder, surely it was the UK’s turn to produce their own National Lottery millionaire. However, it was not to be as the National Lottery jackpot went unclaimed – making this Saturday’s jackpot prize pool an impressive estimated top prize tier of £6.5 million. Despite no one matching the six main numbers needed to win the jackpot, let’s see if the National Lottery Results for Wednesday 14th September 2011 proved lucky for the lower prize tiers.

The machine used to draw Wednesday’s main balls was Arthur, producing the numbers 23, 28, 29, 37, 38 and 42 – followed by bonus ball number 49. It was interesting to note two consecutive pairs of 27 and 28 as well as 37 and 38, mainly due to the fact that the main ball of 38 has now made 229 UK Lotto appearances – making it the most common lottery number to be drawn. The main ball of 23 was also a welcoming sight, due to it being the fifth most common number to appear in the UK Lotto draws, with a total of 220 appearances to date.
Wednesday night proved to be a lucky night for over 250,000 National Lottery ticket holders; each reaping the rewards of a prize fund worth £7,203,375. Three people can now say they’re £256,022 richer, after matching five main numbers along with the bonus ball – followed by 192 ticket holders each winning £2,500 for successfully matching the five main balls drawn.
Will the UK Lottery produce another roll over, or instead produce another jackpot winner? Only time and ticket sales will tell, as the more National Lottery tickets sold then the more likely one of those tickets will produce the jackpot winner.
