On Tuesday 26th August the first Irish National Lottery Millionaire Raffle draw took place and according to reports the only people who are really happy with how it all went are the winners. There seems to be a bit of uproar as to how the Irish National Lottery Millionaire Raffle was conducted.

The National Lottery Millionaire Raffle was restricted on the number of tickets being sold; just 300,000 of the 20 euro tickets were available to purchase and they all sold. The problem seems to be that the results for the game where announced in a commercial break but there was no actual live draw aired.
According to the article there was also some suspicions about the fact that one of the £1 million winners of the National Lottery Millionaire Raffle came from Tralee and the winners were announced in a commercial break of the programme the Rose of Tralee.
A press release about the National Lottery Millionaire Raffle on August 15th said “The first ever National Lottery Millionaire Raffle draw will take place in Tralee, Co Kerry, on Tuesday, 26 August 2008. Tune in to RTÉ 1 at 8:49pm when Derek Mooney will host the draw live from Denny Street in Tralee”. Although on visiting the National Lottery website there was a statement to say that the draw would be taking place in the afternoon and the National Lottery headquarters.
The Rose of Tralee was crowned as Aoife Kelly,an occupational therapist from Tipperary and tickets holders are all a little suscpicious of the two big winners of the National Lottery Millionaire Raffle – one came from Tralee and the other from Tipperary – coincidence?
