National Lottery Lucky Dip winner

UK National Lottery One lucky National Lottery winner is celebrating after winning more than £87,000 on the draw that took place on Saturday 23rd August. John Hughes who is 57 bought his National Lottery Lucky Dip whilst buying his two copies of the Evening Leader from his local Somerfield store.

Mr Hughes always buys two copies of his local newspaper because he and his sister always race to finish the crossword and although he only had a £2 coin in his pocket decided to buy a National Lottery Lucky Dip ticket with his change.

Mr Hughes has been a part of four National Lottery syndicates for quite a while but on occasions he purchases a National Lottery Lucky Dip tickets just for himself.

Lady luck was on his side when he chose to buy a National Lottery Lucky Dip ticket and he even put off going down to his local British Legion club in order to watch the National Lottery draw take place. He was stunned to see his numbers come out.

The draw numbers for Saturday 23rd August 2008 where 9, 16, 23, 26, 27 and 42 with bonus ball number 44. The total prize fund for the draw was £13,582,850 and the machine used was Sapphire. Mr Hughes managed to match 5 balls plus the bonus ball on his National Lottery Lucky Dip ticket to win £87,170.

5 winners shared the top prize and all took home £2,716,570 and there were 18 winners who like John Hughes and his National Lottery Lucky Dip ticket matched 5 numbers and the bonus ball. 882 players matched 5 balls and each took home £1,111.

46,121 players managed to match 4 balls and took home £46 each whilst a massive 822,480 matched three balls to scoop £10 each.
