National Lottery Contribution for Olympics

National Lottery players really will be at the heart of the 2012 Olympic games and Paralympics when it begins and that’s because National Lottery contributions for the Olympics are said to top £2.2 billion and staggering amount of month which will be going towards the games. £750 million of this money will be coming from specially designated Olympic themed lottery games.  

Five new sports facilities will be funded by National Lottery players for the Olympics, these will include an aquatics centre, the main Olympic Stadium, a new VeloPark, a hockey centre for the games and a handball arena.

Chris Hoy, Olympic triple gold medallist also recently announces further plans for the London 2012 VeloPark which is to be completely funded by National Lottery funds. The VeloPark will receive funding for a London Velodrome which will seat 6,000 spectators. After the Olympic games have taken place a mountain bike course and road cycle circuit will be added to the track’s facilities to create a legacy park which will combine all cycling facilities in one central hub.
