Lucky Thirteen win Canada 6/49

They say thirteen is unlucky but not for one lottery syndicate as a group of workers named by the media as the ‘Lucky Thirteen’ win Canada 6/49 jackpot. The jackpot had rolled over for several weeks and hit an eye watering $49,851,871 the third highest in the history of the lottery when one lucky syndicate of eleven women and two men hit all six winning numbers to scoop the prize.
The syndicate work for ATB Financial and in addition to being a thirteen strong syndicate, the workers also work in an office on the thirteenth floor of an Edmonton bank tower, making them the lucky thirteen in more ways than one.
The lucky thirteen syndicate who won the Canada Lotto 6/49 say they will share the massive payout from Wednesdays draw giving each of them around $3.8 million per person. Patricia Podridske only decided on buying the ticket at the very last moment, when she saw just how high the rollover jackpot had become. She then asked her co-workers and twelve others put cash in to create the last minute lottery syndicate.
The winning numbers for the massive rollover Canada Lotto 6/49 draw were 4 – 22 – 26 – 29 – 39 – 48 and the bonus was 31 and while it certainly wasn’t the biggest jackpot ever won on the lottery it certainly wasn’t far off. That one was won in 2005 by a seventeen strong syndicate from Alberta and came in at $54.3 million.
