Lucky Couple Scoop Millionaire Maker Prize - Twice!

Most people would be happy to win the lottery just once in their lives, but David and Kathleen Long have outdone themselves by winning big on Millionaire Maker twice in just under two years. The couple, who live in Scunthorpe, beat odds of more than 283 billion to one to take home their second prize of £1 million. The couple had previously picked up a £1 million prize on Friday 26th July 2013.

Speaking at a celebratory press conference on Wednesday, David remarked that he “just knew it would be my turn again some day....I just had a feeling it was going to be me.” Having seen an advert for the recent Mega Friday draw, which also offered the winner a luxury car, David decided to buy five lines with his regular numbers. Checking the results on Saturday, he noticed that he won £7.20 - and then checked the Millionaire Maker codes to discover that he had it indeed won it big once again.

In the time between winning their first seven-figure windfall and their second payday, the Longs have gotten married, bought a car and made sure to treat their families. They hope to take a cruise using some of their new winnings.

Camelot officials have referred to the couple’s incredible luck as an “extraordinary situation”, while David mentioned that “it’s definitely taking longer to sink in this time”.

Whether you’ve scooped a big win previously or are waiting to get your foot in the door, every EuroMillions draw brings with it another opportunity to strike it rich. This popular pan-European draw game is back on Good Friday with a top prize of £10 million (€15 million), and you can find out more about how it works at the EuroMillions Lottery page.
