Lucky 7 celebrate Mega Millions win

Mega MillionsFriday’s Mega Millions Lottery was one of the biggest jackpots for months. After a quick re-estimate before the draw, based on ticket sales, the jackpot was raised to $319 million. After the draw excitement was high as players checked their winning numbers. Was it to be another rollover? Certainly not, and just one ticket matched all the numbers but now news has been released that it was a syndicate and as the lucky 7 celebrates their Mega Millions win we can tell you who they are.

The seven-strong lottery syndicate won the Mega Millions Lottery jackpot on Friday evening, a staggering $319 million. The seven players are from New York and work for state government, although how many of them will be going back to work it isn’t known. Given the size of the jackpot, the players got together to buy Mega Millions tickets for the draw and give themselves an extra chance. It was one of these Mega Millions Quick Pick tickets that won the jackpot, netting the group $319 million.

If they decide to take the Mega Millions Lottery win as a lump sum then they will collect almost $203 million, before taxes of course. When Uncle Sam has his share, the seven players will eventually share $134 million, still a very big lottery jackpot.

Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot will now be an estimated $12 million, however the other big US draw, the Powerball Lottery is up to $153 million for the Wednesday midweek draw, this one’s proving one to look out for!
