Lotto Winners Benefit Scam

A lady who had a National Lottery win last year has been fined £1,000 after failing to declare her lottery win. The Lotto winners benefit scam happened after her £141,000 National Lottery win in April last year when she continued to receive over £2,000 in income support payments that she was no longer entitled to.
Susan English failed to inform the Department of Work and Pensions after her win and blew most of it on slot machines, furniture and clothes magistrates were told at the hearing. Miss English said she couldn’t wait to spend the money and wishes she had never won the lottery as it caused her so many problems. She also added that she will happily pay back the money she owes and claimed illegally.

People might be wondering why after a £141,000 National Lottery win you would want to continue claiming benefits and it seems in this case at least justice has been done.
It also poses an interesting question about whether money really is the key to happiness, it seems in the case of Susan English it certainly is not.
The UK National Lottery plays twice weekly, every Wednesday and Saturday evening. Tickets are £1 each and the draw tonight will be worth an estimated £4.6 million to any player who can match all six winning numbers between 1 and 49.
Here’s hoping it brings you more luck than it brought to this lady. You can play the draw at the National Lottery website by clicking the link above.
