Lotto Misery over Ticket Loss

Dorothy McDonagh was quite rightly celebrating over her £30,000 National Lottery win but after realising that someone else had claimed her win she faces a Lotto misery over the ticket loss. The pensioner from the Swindon area now faces the booby prize as Camelot refuse to pay out a second time. Ms McDonagh was over the moon when she realised she had match all seven numbers on the Daily Play game from the National Lottery but soon realised she had lost the winning ticket.
In a panic Ms McDonagh called Camelot but was horrified to learn that her jackpot had already been collected. Ms McDonagh had lost the ticket after purchasing it at her local Co-op store and it was found by 34 yr old Amanda Stacey.

Mrs Stacey believed the windfall would be the answer to all her money troubles and her and her husband cashed the cheque at the Post Office and quickly spent £15,000 in a single month clearning debts and treating their children.
Officials for the National Lottery were left with no choice but to call in the police and now the couple who cashed the ticket have been handed a two year suspended sentence after admitting fraud and theft.
Ms McDonagh must now wait until another hearing in July to see who gets the remaining £15,000. She believes the money should go to her but she won’t have that confirmed until the hearing. She believes Camelot is at fault for the error as she had already called them to say she still had the payslip and they still cashed the cheque.
It’s one of the many reasons why players choose to play the National Lottery draws online, there’s nothing like the peace of mind you get from playing the National Lottery directly through the National Lottery website. Your tickets are kept safe until the draw and they even send you an email if you are a lucky lottery winner.
