Lotto Max win still under investigation

$50 million is one of the biggest prizes in Canadian Lottery history but the group of workers who came forward to claim the Lotto Max Canada prize still don’t have a penny. The Lotto Max win is still under investigation, due to other members coming forward to say they should have a share in the $50 million jackpot, as they were part of the original lottery syndicate. Nineteen agreed winners have stepped forward but it’s the other original members who hadn’t paid up for this draw that are causing the problems.
It was nineteen office workers from Toronto Bell Canada who stepped forward to claim the $50 million Lotto Max Canada prize, after several appeals for the winners to come forward. However, it seems that this 19 were not the only syndicate members, even though they were the only ones who paid to play for that draw.
They are claiming that had they known the jackpot was worth $50, they would definitely have played in the draw, but they didn’t know the syndicate was going ahead and therefore were deprived of a chance to win.
A Lotto Max Canada spokesman has said that he hopes that the whole issue can be quickly resolved, and he would like to see the winnings go to only those who should rightfully receive it.
This isn’t the first dispute over lottery syndicates to arise, but it is one of the biggest disputes we’ve seen from world lottery draws. This of course highlights the need to ensure you have a syndicate agreement set up and in place before that big lottery win, that way everyone then knows exactly what to expect.
