Lotto Max reaches Maxmillions

Lotto MaxWith a $50 million limit, several rollovers can soon create an overspill in the Canada Lotto Max and that’s exactly what’s happened this week as the Lotto Max reaches Maxmillions status. That means the main jackpot on the Lotto Max Canada has hit $50 million and that will lead – according to estimated ticket sales – to at least nine Maxmillions draws where nine lucky players have the opportunity to win a clean $1 million.

Maxmillions draws on the Lotto Max Canada occur when the main jackpot rolls over on the Friday night lottery several times creating a jackpot upwards of $50 million.

When the lottery was launched last year, it was decided that the ceiling on the jackpot would be $50 million, addressing the request by many Canadians for smaller, easier to win lottery prizes. Should the Lotto Max Canada reach $50 then for every $1 million over the jackpot there will be a Maxmillions draw.

This weekend there is likely to be a $59 million prize fund so that will mean a main Lotto Max Canada draw and then nine Maxmillions draws, each with a $1 million prize.

This prize far out-shadows the $3.5 million available on Saturday’s Lotto 6/49 Canada so it will be understandable if players chose the Friday night Lotto Max Canada as their preferred draw.

This bumper jackpot puts the Lotto Max Canada right up there with the big US multi-state lotteries and both of them are on multiple rollovers this weekend and that means hundreds of millions of dollars up for grabs on the other side of the Atlantic in the weekend lottery draws.
