Lotto cash to improve sports after 2012

UK National LotteryLottery players who take an interest in good causes from the UK National Lottery will be well aware of the investment the UK National Lottery is making in the Olympic Games, London 2012. Millions have been raised via special games with more to come in the new year but a new initiative will see lotto cash improve sports after 2012, helping to keep the whole nation active long after the games have finished. Olympic chiefs have earmarked £135 million of money from the UK National Lottery good causes and it’s this money that will make a difference, after the games are over.

Many Olympic villages around the world now sit in rack and ruin, despite having millions invested because of a lack of investment after the games, determined not to let this happen in the UK, Olympic Chiefs and the UK National Lottery are launching the Places People Play scheme. The scheme will improve regional facilities and keep the Olympic village in use, long after London 2012 is over.

With an improvement in regional facilities around the UK and the training of 40,0000 young sports leaders, it is hoped that this money from the UK National Lottery will help up to two million Britons to be more active.

This of course is just one of the ways that cash from the UK National Lottery is improving the lives of people around the UK. Lottery grants and good causes are at the heart of our lottery games, making the UK National Lottery one of the most generous world lottery draws.
