It’s been a tough old year for many and at times it has seemed that only a lottery win will make things better. Well an announcement today means that even without buying a lottery ticket the lottery is to help recession hit people get their lives back on track with help from the Big Lottery Fund.
The Big Lottery Fund is an organisation that gives out lottery cash to charities and needy causes across the UK. It is funded entirely by the sale of UK National Lottery tickets and makes a difference to the lives of many communities across the UK.

Now the Big Lottery Fund might well be coming to a community near you as the UK National Lottery has pledged those hit by the economic downturn.
The grants, to the tune of around £4.5 million are going to be poured into projects, supporting communities in the UK who are struggling with the impact of the current recession and economic downturn.
The grants from the UK National Lottery Big Lottery Fund are part of a $43 million UK-wide initiative to target the young, vulnerable and out of work across the UK.
It’s just one of the ways the UK National Lottery is helping good causes across the UK and you could well be seeing the benefits of the National Lottery fund in a community near you, even if you have never bought a lottery ticket you could still feel the benefits of National Lottery funding.
