For those who haven’t heard about the brand new movie ‘Lottery Ticket’, the Lottery Ticket movie premier was held in Atlanta this week and pretty soon everyone’s going to be hearing about it. The movie opens in the US in August 20th and stars big names in rap such as Bow Wow, Ice Cube and Brandon T Jackson and is based around a story of someone trying to keep a winning lottery ticket safe. Here's the story about how winning a lottery draw can be more trouble than it's worth.
It’s never mentioned in The Lottery Ticket which of the world lottery draws Bow Wow’s character Kevin Carson has won but judging by the fact that it is based in the US and worth $370 million we can assume it’s either the Powerball Lottery or the Mega Millions Lottery. Kevin Carson lives in the projects and has to battle opportunistic neighbours and friends alike to keep the winning lottery ticket safe.
It certainly looks like it’s going to be a funny movie, whether it’s a box-office hit or not is yet to be seen. Can Kevin Carson survive a whole Thanksgiving weekend? More importantly can he survive with his winning lottery ticket still intact?
Both the Powerball Lottery and Mega Millions Lottery suggest you sign the reverse of your lottery tickets the moment you buy them. Maybe this is a method this character should have employed, although we guess it wouldn’t have made such a funny movie.
