A Syndicate of steelworkers from Scunthorpe have scooped over £2 million on the UK National Lottery but the lottery syndicate struggled to find 50p for their subs for the lottery after the financial downturn hit their pockets. Now the steelworkers from the Corus plant in Scunthorpe are celebrating.
It’s great news for the seven syndicate members who work for Corus, especially as the plant has just announced 2,000 job cuts. They picked up their £2 million UK National Lottery win yesterday at the steel plant and were ecstatic about their big win.

The lottery syndicate has been using the same number for the last fifteen years and have never won more than £10. On July 11th their luck changed as they matched all six winning numbers to scoop have of the £4.4 million jackpot, giving them a share of £2.2 million.
The syndicate organiser said that recently they have counted themselves lucky to still be in a job, let alone win the UK National Lottery. He collects 50p from the lads each week but even that has been a struggle recently as the lottery syndicate struggled to find just 50p.
They will each receive over a quarter of a million each, hopefully putting an end to their job insecurity and money worries in what must be considered one of the best lottery syndicate wins seen in recent times.
