Lottery Repeat was a Fluke

A probe into the repeat of lottery numbers on the Bulgarian Lottery found that the lottery repeat was a fluke. The odd occurrence reported on our pages last week has been investigated and officials have found that the unlikely event was just a fluke after finding no problems with the lottery machine or the balls used in the draw.
In the original news story brought to you on these pages last week the lottery numbers drawn in the Bulgarian Lottery on September 10th were found to be identical to the ones drawn a few days before on September 6th. The winning numbers in the draw were 4 – 15 – 23 – 24 – 35 and 42. The same set of numbers were drawn, in a different order in both Wednesdays and Saturdays lottery draw.
This led to a probe by an investigative panel but the investigation ruled on Thursday that the lottery repeat was a fluke after finding no wrongdoing or problems with the machine.
The thorough investigation was completed on Thursday last week and they found that the Bulgarian National Lottery had not defrauded or manipulated the balls or the lottery machine in any way.
Of course the chances of the same numbers being drawn on two consecutive dates are very unlikely but not impossible and as with any random event the numbers are just as randomly likely to be the same as in the last draw as they are of being different.
Mathematicians said that the odds of the same lottery numbers being drawn twice were around 1 in 4 million but after foul play is now ruled out, it seems that is exactly what did happen in the Bulgarian Lottery.
