Lottery Prize Donated to New York Church

Lottery Numbers As a huge Lottery prize is donated to a New York Church you can’t help but wonder what you would do if you had a large lottery win? Most of us would be on the first flight to a holiday destination and treat ourselves, maybe a new home or a new car.

Yet a gentleman from Port Jefferson scratched off an instant win lottery ticket and upon realising it was worthy $3 million promptly donated the Lottery prize to a New York Church.

The winner has asked to remain anonymous but Pastor Bertrand Crabbe of the True North Community Church in Port Jefferson gave a statement declaring “This is why God put the winning ticket in the players hands”

The state lottery have announced that the church will receive at least $102,225 a year until 2028, although this amount could well be higher if the application to have taxes refunded is allowed because of the church’s non-profit status.

The scratch card, a Ba Da Bling card bought on 19th July 2008 had the winning amount of $3 million, the winner immediately called his pastor to his home and handed the ticket over, claiming to want to ‘Bless the church’

The money is now destined to be used to benefit several charities as well as helping to build a new church for the parishioners.

Now I’ve heard of pennies from heaven but it seems that this parishioner thinks that pennies are not enough. It of course is a worthy cause and his intentions are to be rewarded, I wonder what the reward is? How much is a ticket past the pearly gates these days with inflation how it is?
