For UK players buying lottery tickets for the National Lottery rollover this evening, this move should be good news, especially if these players live in more rural areas of the UK. The expansion plans are designed to make it easier for lottery players to buy tickets for the UK National Lottery and EuroMillions Lottery and organisers believe it could raise as much as £1.4 billion in good causes and more than £600 million in lottery duty over the next twelve years.

Last year lottery organisers boasted record ticket sales of more than £5 billion but Chief Executive Dianne Thompson says the lottery does not want to take its success for granted. It’s this that has been behind the promise by lottery organisers to open another 8,000 lottery terminals in the UK, mainly in rural areas and post offices to allow players to buy lottery tickets.

It’s good news for lottery players, especially as big jackpots seem to be the speciality at the moment. Tonight’s National Lottery jackpot is up to an estimated £7 million after no one won on Wednesday evening, and Tuesday’s Euromillions jackpot is a world record for lottery players!
