Lottery Grant for Hadrians Wall Heritage

National Lottery There is a promised £4 million Lottery grant for the Hadrian’s Wall heritage fund, a not for profit organisation responsible for the protection, development and marketing of the Hadrians Wall world heritage site.

The grant, from the Heritage Lottery Fund will be used to help the Vindolanda Trust renovate and transform the central section of the wall in Northumberland and work on the Roman Vindolanda near Bardon Mill and the Roman Army museum in Greenhead.

The trust hopes that the Lottery grant for Hadrians Wall Heritage fund will help to link the two forts of Hadrians Wall and build an education centre to help inspire children interested in archaeology to be the next generation. The fund will also ensure that a large part of the Vindolanda collection will go on public display for the first time.
