Kentucky Lottery players fall foul of error

USA BallKentucky Lottery players fell foul of an error this week when trying to buy lottery tickets as 450 lottery machines in the area went down. The machines, many in the Louisville area were blighted by a technical error, which meant that lottery players couldn’t buy tickets for the Kentucky Lottery draws or the two big multi-state draws, the Mega Millions and Powerball Lottery. With terminals out for much of the day yesterday, it’s possible that at least one lottery player would have missed out on a big prize on last night’s Mega Millions Lottery jackpot.

There are almost 3,000 lottery terminals in the state of Kentucky and most continued to work through the blackout but lottery players will still be complaining, especially as there was a $41 million Mega Millions Lottery jackpot up for grabs last night.

The Kentucky Lottery released a statement yesterday declaring that there is usually a lottery back up system in place for these sorts of events but yesterday it appeared to fail to back up 450 terminals. This meant that lottery players were unable to buy lottery tickets for the big draws.

Thankfully the lottery terminals are back up and running now, in time for tonight’s $60 million Powerball Lottery tickets. Of course, as world lottery players you don’t need to worry about lottery terminals, simply click the banner above if you wish to play tonight’s $60 million Powerball Lottery rollover draw from anywhere in the world, without even leaving your desk!
